If during detection the CO concentration reaches a certain defined threshold, the detector triggers a loud acoustic alarm signal of 85 dB accompanied by flashing of the red LED indicator signalling a carbon monoxide alarm, while the detector display shows the currently measured CO concentration. The purpose is to deliberately attract the attention of persons present in the building by means of a high noise level and intensive LED signalling to the fact that a potential danger is arising in some part of the building. The purpose of the CO alarm is then an immediate response to the alarm event or the movement of persons from the place of the emergency to a safe zone.

The combination of battery power and the design of the detector housing allow installation by placing the device in an optimal position on a horizontal surface. Thanks to this, fixed installation of the detector on a wall is not required, and it can be placed (stood) freely and variably on horizontal surfaces such as shelves, bedside tables, window sills or other set-down areas. The electronic components and the detector's printed circuit board are provided with an insulating and protective coating with IZOVAX nanoparticles protecting the device electronics even in very humid environments. The device can therefore be placed or installed, for example, in bathrooms with a gas water heater or gas boiler, in boiler rooms, drying rooms and the like.

The SAFE CO Guard carbon monoxide detector is equipped with an advanced memory function that monitors the highest measured carbon monoxide gas values. The memory records information about the highest measured CO concentration in ppm even during your absence.  By pressing the combined TEST/HUSH button you can at any time check on the LCD display the maximum level of the measured values retrospectively, since the last manual memory reset. The information is also stored and clearly displayed in the ProSAFE application of the alarm system.

If the detector registers the threshold level of CO concentration, it triggers a warning signalization to activate the alarm. In case of unwanted acoustic alarm signalization, it can be temporarily silenced by pressing the TEST/HUSH button for up to 45 seconds. The temporary hush mode is indicated by the device by the red LED indicator flashing at a regularly repeating interval of once per second without accompanying acoustic buzzer signalization. If the CO concentration subsequently drops below the predetermined values, the detector automatically returns to normal operating mode.
